Carole brought in two tomatoes last Saturday, 7/29, for weigh-in. Hers was an Early Girl weighing 12.5 oz , girth 11-1/4". The other one was Gayton's entry, a Big Boy weighing 12.8 oz, with a girth of 11-3/4".
Gayton's Big Boy is the one to beat but the season is early, and I am sure there will be a lot more weigh ins coming up.
The photo shows Carole, grandaughter Lily and Larry who was officiating the weigh-in.

We are very proud of our entries even though the bar is very low and we know there will be many larger contenders. We intend to persevere with our watering and feeding regime. We highly recommend Miracle Grow for Tomatoes (you should see the 'miracle' PLANTS we have. We are eagerly awaiting some 'miracle' tomatoes!) Recent feedings include special fish emulsion from behind the Redwood Curtain. Maybe we can expect large, scaly tomatoes and a fragrance that will produce a euphoria where we will eagerly discuss the merits of tomato farming on the political forum and solve all the world's problems while dining on tomato brownies.
